Medications

To help manage your pain you may have tried over the counter medications or given by your GP. They may be associated with side effects. Morphine based medication can help some conditions and is to used cautiously.

Sometimes, we have to try medications which are not usual pain killers that may be helpful. These medications have been tried in various pain clinics to help with the pain. These medications are used to treat epilepsy and depression. We use these medication to help with the pain

Injection Therapies

Injection therapy is helpful in some pain ful conditions. It is given into various area like around the nerves, muscle, joints to help with the pain. It can be done under X-ray, ultrasound or just by feeling (anatomical method). These injections are generally performed when you are awake. These are generally done as day case procedure and you go home the same day after few hours.

  • Nerve Root Injection - Sciatica

  • Epidural - Sciatica

  • Radio Frequency Abalation - Back Pain

  • Medial Branch Block - Back Pain

  • Nerve Block For Shoulder Joint - Shoulder Pain

  • Intravenous Regional Anaesthesia

  • Sympathectomy - Complex Regional Pain Syndrome

  • Trigger Point Injection - Myofascial Pain

  • Pudendal nerve block for Chronic Pelvic Pain

  • Platelet rich plasma therapy for arthritis

  • Use of medicinal Cannabis

Pain Management and Physical Therapies

Pain affects an individual in various way. It affects mobility, mood, socialising, and relationships. These aspect can become so apparent and frustrating that an individual goes in a down ward spiral. In my opinion these aspects need to be looked in detail and addressed. It is essential to understand the pain syndrome. You may need a holistic approach. We offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and physical therapy based programmes to help deal and manage your pain.
